There is no distinction given by the senses alone; senses themseleves do not distiguish. The senses are what thinking makes of itself in distinguishing. The senses follow thinking. This phrase is meant both epistemologically and ontologically. But the senses are in a recursion with thinking; thinking also follows the senses.
